One big issue with the whole process is inserting multiple page PDFs into a Word document. I’ll explain the process for the Mac version (2011), which is slightly different, and for several of the latest releases of Office for PC (2007, 2010, 2013). Even though Microsoft doesn’t keep everything consistent between versions, the process of inserting a PDF file is pretty much the same. In the process of doing so, I figured out a few ways that you can go about inserting a PDF document into a Word document and that’s what I’m going to explain here! If you have ever used different versions of Microsoft Office, you probably have felt the pain of dealing with features being moved around or features being removed completely. Recently, I had to take a few pages out of a PDF document and put them into a Word document that I needed to send to a client. Depending on how far you'd like to move an image in the current sheet, it may also be easier to use this cut/paste technique. To move an image to a new sheet or workbook, select the image and press Ctrl + X to cut it, then open another sheet or a different Excel document and press Ctrl + V to paste the image. This will move the image in small increments equal to the size of 1 screen pixel.
Obviously, the file will no longer be backwards compatible with older versions of Word.
Simply doing Save as and choosing the.docx format will not upgrade the file format, you have to do it through the more options choice. To add a background picture to a single page, with full control over its tone, color and transparency, use the Insert Picture option. With Microsoft Word 2013, it's quite easy to insert a picture to use as a background for any document. Go Background > Fill Effect > Picture > Select Picture.Browse for the picture that you want to insert.
